Port Moody Public Library is going fine free on September 14, 2026. There will also be a new $0.25 charge for holds not picked up or cancelled before the expiry date.
Read below to learn more about these fee changes.
No more overdue fines
Starting September 14, fines will no longer be charged for overdue items. All existing overdue fines will be waived. Other charges, such as for lost or damaged items, will remain on your account.
Charges still apply for lost or damaged items
Borrowers are responsible for the replacement cost of lost or damaged items, plus a processing fee. For a full list of fees, visit our Borrowing Guidelines page.
Overdue items will be billed as lost after 21 days
A lost charge will be added to your account if an item is not returned 21 days after its due date. This charge will be removed if the item is returned within 90 days.
New charge for holds not picked up or cancelled
A charge of $0.25 will be applied for each physical hold that is not picked up or cancelled before the expiry date. This fee is intended to encourage the timely pickup or cancellation of holds, so that more people can enjoy high-demand items.
